DEP Reveals a 17.5% Growth of Export Volumes of Electrical Appliances in First Eight Months of 2011
BANGKOK, Oct. 13, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- DEP focuses on Japan, US, China, Hong Kong as main export markets of Thailand and pushes ahead its plan to make Thailand as regional industrial leader via Bangkok RHVAC 2011 and Bangkok E&E 2011, showcasing new innovations with comfort while being environmental friendly.

The Exhibition expects to fetch income more than Baht 300 million. Mrs. Anchalee Promnart, Deputy Director-General of Department of Export Promotion, Ministry of Commerce, revealed about the growth of air-conditioners, electrical and electronic appliances (which expanded continuously in the first half of 2011) that the export volumes of industrial products of electrical appliances as well as air-conditioner had increased significantly in the past 8 months, which was against the trend of world economy.

This includes risk factors, both locally and abroad, for example, of climate change and natural disasters, and clearly proved the strength of the Thai industry during that time.

"In the past 8 months, Thailand has chalked up export value of electrical appliances more than US 15,756 million dollars, an expansion at 17.5% when compared to that of the same period of 2010, and represented 10 percent of the entire exports of the country. As for exports of air-conditioners and accessories of Thailand in the past 8 months, the value now stands at US 2,944 million dollars, an expansion as high as 26.65% when compared to that of the same period last year, and represented 1.86 percent of the overall exports of Thailand. Main markets of these products are Japan, United States of America, China, Hong Kong," said Mrs. Anchalee.

Further, Mrs. Anchalee mentioned about the Bangkok RHVAC 2011 and Bangkok E&E 2011 which was to be held in October this year that it would strengthen the image of an industrial leader of Thailand to the world.

"The grand exhibition of Bangkok RHVAC 2011 and Bangkok E&E 2011 which is to be organized during 12th-16th October this year at the Exhibition and Convention Centre, Impact Arena, Muang Thong Thani, will be a stage whereby Thailand can show her potentials and confidence in the standards of goods and the quality production to the world. This exhibition combines two ultimate innovations in one place, whether it be refrigeration equipment, electrical and electronic appliances, under the concept of green technology development, which helps upgrades the quality of life while at the same time preserving environments sustainably.

In this exhibition, visitors will see quality products, ranging from household utensils to large industrial products, from more than 200 leading Asian manufacturers who have displayed their own products of more than 800 booths. There will be also many interesting activities. It is expected that this exhibition alone will attract about 30,000 visitors around the world, including operators, distributing agents, major industrial groups, and consumers. We believe that the income to be obtained from this exhibition will be around Baht 300 million," said Mrs. Anchanlee.

The Exhibition of Bangkok RHVAC 2011 and Bangkok E&E 2011 comprises Business Talk Days, which is during 12th-14th October 2011, and Retail Days, during 15th-16th October 2011, as from 10.00 a.m. until 6.00 p.m., at the Exhibition and Convention Centre, Impact Arena, Muang Thong Thani.
