Technotrans launches 'world's smallest' compressor in UK |
|
Chillers incorporating the worlds smallest and lightest rotary compressor are set to be introduced into the UK by Technotrans.
This move follows its parent companys purchase of Termotek, a specialist supplier of laser cooling systems, last year.
The range includes air-water heat exchangers for small lasers (widely used in the medical sector), air-water compressor based chillers (used for diode lasers) in the mid-range performance through to air-water compressor based chillers for high powered diode lasers.
The chillers range from desk drawer size up. Standardised or bespoke designs can be provided.
The Aspen miniature compressor used in the chillers comes in two designs, a 1.4cc or 1.9cc format and with variable speed control, from 2100 to 6500rpm. They are available in 12V, 24 V or 48V electrical power versions.
The Aspen systems have been tested for use with R134a and R404 refrigerants although other low pressure refrigerants or refrigerant blends may perform well but have not yet been verified. Both versions of the Aspen compressor use polyolester oil (POE) as a lubricant.
In addition to the compressor, the chiller units use a central control which measures and monitors all inputs and outputs such as temperature, ambient conditions dependant fan speed control, conductivity measurement, hours of operation, general chiller status.
As well as the intrinsic benefits of system control, this facility coupled with the companys P900 test and measurement tool can be especially beneficial for companies working with clients who like to monitor and record environmental impacts such as energy usage.
The whole range (the E and P series as they are known) is claimed to guarantee a temperature stability of +/- 0.1K and can use de-ionised water so can be used for active or passive cooling. The chillers are plug-and-play, are reliable and easy to maintain.
